Happy New Year again Lovelies!!!
Yes o, it is still January so for the rest of the month, I am going to be wishing you all a Happy New Year! wink wink
I am sure a lot of you are still going strong on that New Year resolution that you set at the beginning of 2024. One thing you need to know though is that if you do not do things differently, there would be no difference in the outcome of your new year resolutions.
Have you noticed that everybody is strong and committed at the beginning of a proposition, but then the routine gets boring, and it feels like you are doing the same thing, the same way, every day. The energy and zeal starts to drop gradually; and before you know it, the enthusiasm fades away. Never to be seen again.
In order to make a difference in 2024, you have to actually desire the end result of whatever goal or resolution you have set for yourself and then determine to do somethings differently! There is an adage that says; "doing something the same way and expecting a different result is foolishness".
So in order to get a different outcome than before you have got to Make a Difference both in your planning and your strategy because if not lovely, you are wasting your time.
How do you Make a Difference?
- Start with gratitude: a life of gratitude turns everything all around. Being grateful for even the ability to set goals/resolutions prepare you for the steps to ensure that you are able to keep going. Because not everybody made it to the new year, not everybody made it with strong health and sound mind to the new year. So be grateful. I spoke in an extensive way on gratitude in my Gratitude Lifestyle post last week. You will do well to read it
- Leave your past there: the reason it is called past, is because it is gone. So leave it in yesterday. The mistakes you made last year were just that. Last year's mistake. They should not be dragging you down or making you stagnant. The more you go back to your past, the more stronghold it has on you. You know better now so invest in being better and not being held back. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Apply whatever is applicable, and throw away things that are not worth it
- God is the ultimate Helper: when we pray for helpers of destiny, make a mental note in knowing that God is your ultimate helper. No one can help you like He can. No one knows your frame and your form like He does' So you will be doing yourself a huge disservice going to other people for help. The bible says in Heb 12: 2; "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" You will do excellently well for yourself if you lean to Him and allow Him to help you the way HE alone can.
- Deal with Disappointments: understanding that there will be days you don't meet up to your own expectations will go a LONG way in making a different this year. Days where life is just lifing, and people are peopleing. Knowing and accepting that everything is not going to be rose colored and fancy, prepares you. Because when you expect everyday to be a breeze, you break down on days that are not breezy. Deal with disappointments as they come; NEVER let any of them take you to the place of giving up on yourself or on your goals. You will do better for yourself in how you handle those times and seasons when everything is just not going as planned.
- Are you Ready for the Big Break?: A lot of times, we set goals that we do not believe we can achieve and the importance of your mindset cannot be over-emphasized. Planning for a breakthrough and being ready for a breakthrough are two very different things. And if you are not ready for that breakthrough, you will make a mess of things. So as much as you are making new year goals and resolutions, ensure that you are also preparing for the result. Because won't you be hurting yourself when the big break you worked for comes and you do not know how to handle it?
Remember, to make a different 2024; you have to do things very very differently!
All my love,
Adeola
